This engagement session in Boulder was awesome. First off, Gianna and I were both very tired of engagement photos being taken at the Boulder Chautauqua. Which is nice and you get some nice mountain views, but the last time I was there I saw 6 working professional photographers with engaged couples, families, and dogs. You nearly had to wait your turn. Lame lame lame. James wanted the flatirons and some nature-y location and Gianna wanted something similar but get away from the people; something I love. Blaze your own trail and shoot in an exciting new location with no people. YES! I love exploring and finding new things and locations. It makes it special. If I shoot the same location twice I shoot it in a completely different way. That way I am still creating and not repeating and delivering new exciting work for my gorgeous couples. Gianna and James are planning on tying the knot in Mexico next year, somewhere in the Yucatán Penninsula. They are still in the planning stages but wanted some engagement photos done as soon as possible for save-the-dates, and possibly a wedding website. I really love the fact that I get to capture them and their nutty labradoodle, Lucky, before the wedding zany-ness begins. The way their lives are now before all the great changes ahead. It’s important and something special to have.
