The Collodion Wet-Plate Journey ed. 3

At this point I am now through my first batch of collodion. Approx 300ml of film which is weird to say, instead of shots or sheets of film. I have done around 35 plates, maybe 40, that are worth keeping. I feel a lot more confident in my chemicals and now trying to focus more on the photograph as a whole. Less on technical. The art of it all.

Next up is my 1860’s ish Darlot Opticen Petzval. Its a 240mm f/4 with 1 waterhouse stop that I think makes it f/8. I finally got a board for it and should make some plates soon. This was an exceptional find because it had an original mounting flange and a lens cap.
